Nature, Design, and the Next Frontier of Hospitality. It may have been hot in Phoenix, but Marriott turned up the heat with their innovative new Outdoor Collection! It was a pleasure catching up with Alison Sobek from the Marriott Global Design Team, who shared the creative vision behind these inspiring new concepts.

Unveiled at the Lodging Conference in Phoenix, AZ, last week, Marriott Bonvoy’s Outdoor Collection introduced a bold new brand direction and a curated network of outdoor hospitality partners, including MScapes and Nokken. The initiative highlights Marriott’s two-layer strategy for redefining outdoor lodging—pairing guest-facing brands like Postcard Cabins and Trailborn with a strong network of prefab partners to deliver scalable, design-forward experiences.
This design is just one of several upscale, compact models featured at the conference, showcasing a variety of sizes and layouts tailored for different destinations. The Outdoor Collection portfolio offers exclusively outdoor-focused stays, from cozy woodland cabins near National Parks to boutique hotels perched on dramatic cliffs. Each property seamlessly blends access to nature with the elevated comforts hotel guests expect, such as hot running water, private restrooms, and thoughtfully designed spaces.
